Our Team
Samuel Taylor, CIMA® founded Taylor Capital Management in 2005 after a twenty-two year career in the financial services industry, during which time he worked as a financial advisor, institutional consultant and portfolio manager. He has worked with an array of individual and institutional investors throughout the United States in the creation and management of diversified portfolios.
Sam earned the CIMA® (Certified Investment Management AnalystSM ) designation from the Wharton Business School in 1996 in conjunction with the Investment Management Consultants Assn (IMCA). He also received the CRPC® (Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor™) designation from the College for Financial Planning. Sam holds bachelor and master's degrees from Louisiana Tech University and is a member of IMCA.
Sam is a member of the Rotary Club of Jackson and a volunteer at Gateway Rescue Mission. In his leisure time he enjoys traveling, writing, time spent outdoors and with his family. He and his wife, Melanie are the parents of three daughters and are members of First Presbyterian Church.

Karl Harrop, CFP® began his financial services career in 1991 with ADM Investor Services where he worked at the Chicago Board of Trade and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. Karl received the Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) certification from the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards and is a member of the Financial Planning Association.
Karl holds a master's degree in Financial Markets and Trading from the Illinois Institute of Technology's Stuart School of Business and a bachelor's degree in Economics from Louisiana State University. A Monroe, LA native, Karl lives in Jackson, MS and enjoys scuba diving, snow and water skiing, gardening, music and movies.

Kelly Adams, CRPC®, CMFC® joined Taylor Capital Management in 2008 as a research associate. Previously he worked as an auditor for Breazeale, Saunders & O'Neal, Ltd. and for Knobias, Inc., a small-cap research firm. While at Knobias, Kelly worked as a research analyst and later served as Editor-in-Chief of the firm's investment newsletter.
Kelly holds an MBA from Millsaps College and a BA in English from The University of Mississippi. He received the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor™ (CRPC®) and Chartered Mutual Fund Counselor (CMFC®) designations from the College for Financial Planning. He is currently a Level 2 CFA candidate and a member of the CFA Institute. Kelly and his wife, Amanda, live in Jackson, MS with their young son, Evan, and are members of St. James Episcopal Church. His interests include playing bass guitar in a local band, reading, writing, traveling and attempting an occasional round of golf.

Melanie Taylor is the firm's office manager and is responsible for numerous operational and human resource duties. Additionally, she maintains the firm's books and clients' records.
Melanie enjoys traveling, water skiing, fishing and spending time with her family. She is a sustainer of and volunteers for the Junior League of Jackson and also Gateway Rescue Mission. She holds a BA degree in Elementary Education from Louisiana Tech University. Melanie and husband Sam live in Jackson, are the parents of three daughters and members of First Presbyterian Church.

Kristen Robinson joined the Taylor Capital Management team during the summer of 2009 after graduating from the University of Mississippi magna cum laude with a BBA in Marketing Communications. Kristen serves as the firm's marketing intern with the task of developing promotional material and assisting with logistical duties.
In addition to working for TCM, Kristen is pursuing her MA in Advertising and Public Relations at the University of Alabama. She enjoys reading, running 5ks and traveling. She attends Pinelake Church and is an active member of the Public Relations Society of Mississippi.
